Wild horses roam on part of the public lands in the west. Their populations grow by about 20 percent per year and can overstock certain areas. Extra horses are rounded up and made available for adoption by the public.

The Owyhee Watershed Council's educational activities are supported by the
Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board.
